What We Believe and Why It Matters Forever

At Grace Alone Bible Church, what we believe and why it matters is at the heart of our ministry. The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 4:1-4 that in the period before the Lord Jesus’ return, there would be a time when sound doctrine would not really matter to people in the Church world. Instead, people would be drawn away from the Lord toward churches that would tell them what they wanted to hear.  When that happens the true Church fades and the cultural Christianity takes over creating a counterfeit faith. We are living in such a time.

As a result of these issues, religious polls tell us that most people in our churches are not clear in their understanding that Jesus is Lord and God of this world and that people are sinful and lost without God’s grace.  Both these false beliefs reject the Gospel of salvation by grace alone and that we are fallen people in need of a Savior who can save us by His work, not our good works. Instead, this basic doctrinal foundation has often been replaced with market driven churches that are not leading people to know the real Lord and His Gospel of redemption.

Our church’s central goal then is to clarify the real meaning of grace alone Christianity and leave this cultural confusion behind so the Church can find true joy and liberty in the finished work of the Cross. To that end, the following are our core beliefs that we feel are important for every Christian to understand and celebrate:

  • The Trinity- The Foundation of all true faith and grace is that the God of the Bible and this world has eternally existed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit in 3 distinct Persons. All creation and redemption flow for this Lord alone.

  • The Person and Work of Christ- Jesus is the 2nd Person of the Trinity, fully God and fully Man, who substituted His life for us in an exchange to redeem us from sin and give us His forgiveness and righteousness through the Cross as a gift of grace. His Virgin Birth and victorious Resurrection, as the sole mediation between God and Man, has restored His people to forever fellowship with the Lord.

  • The Body of Christ- The people of God are comprised of all redeemed people, both Jews and Gentiles, from Israel and the Church, who are indwelt by the Holy Spirit and come together to form the True Israel of God as seen in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.

  • Grace Alone Foundations For All We Are and Do- We believe all spiritual joy and freedom in life comes from knowing our redemption and salvation comes to us by grace alone in Christ alone through faith alone to the glory of God alone. Even our faith, or justification, and the ability to live the Christian life, or sanctification, is a gift from beginning to end from the Lord.

  • The Modern Nation of Israel is a Witness to the Resurrection- We believe the Lord brought back the modern nation of Israel to be a witness to the Lord Jesus’ resurrection through their own resurrection as a modern people. We believe this reality to be important to every person showing God’s faithfulness and prophetic purposes for the world.

  • The Blessed Hope is Blessed- We believe that hope and interest in the Lord Jesus’ return is an important part of the Christian Faith for the future and should be a healthy part of the Christian life, not something hidden or ignored.

  • The Great Commission is Our Mission- We believe that all our new life, faith and beliefs in the Lord are meant to be shared with the world. We have committed our church to that great work in evangelism and mission until our Lord returns.

All these statements of faith and belief are part of our ministry each week. These great truths are regularly preached and taught by our leadership and are at the heart of true discipleship for everyone. We believe that understanding and experiencing these doctrines cannot just be on a statement of faith online or on paper but must be lived out in our lives each day for Lord and His kingdom.  We welcome you to join us in this great work!
